Feisty little schoolteacher, Cinderella Barton, is quite tired of Deputy Henson Andrews telling her what to do. She came to Strasburg to take her first teaching position, and he begins lecturing her the first week, despite her efforts to ignore him. She moves from one boarding home to another, and at the end of the school year, she is forced to move into "Lady Angelica's Home Away from Home for Ladies" in the middle of the night for safety. Once there, she finally feels safe for the first time in months.
Henson becomes more and more determined that she will not ignore him any longer, especially when it comes to his efforts to keep her safe. It irritates him no end when she manages to put herself in harm’s way. When she completely disregards his orders – with a bear in the area – and someone shoots at her through the window of the schoolroom after he ordered to stay away from it, his patience runs out. He finally decides to take her firmly in hand – and marry her – if he has to!
When one shooting becomes two and a kidnapping follows, Henson becomes even more determined to find out who was behind it. The main problem, however, is keeping his beautiful little wife obedient and safe. Keeping her safe – he is trying his best… but keeping her obedient? Henson begins to wonder just how many trips Cinderella will have to take across his knee before he will accomplish that task.

Another great addition to The Strasburg Chronicles, and we briefly met Cinderella Barton in Merrie’s Hero during an encounter between Mr. Moreton and herself, and a cane. Cinderella is the school teacher now, her students adore her, are learning, but she can be her own worst enemy when it comes to safety. Because Cinderella lost her mother when she was only eight years old, and being the oldest of the children, she understands that many of her students have also had to work before coming to school. She can sympathize when their plight, and understands that are tired, and often hungry. She brings lunches to school for the children who don’t have one.Deputy Henson Andrews finds himself enamored by Cinderella, but at the same time, totally infuriated with her lackadaisical attitude about safety. When he finds her walking in the woods again, it includes her being pursued by a bear. After rescuing her, and taking her to dinner and then to her home where she is a border with the Simpsons, he is upset with the way Mrs. Simpson treats her. But Cinderella tells him, “when one is a beggar, she cannot be a chooser too.”
The plot will have Henson watching out for Cinderella, and then courted her. He proves he will hold her accountable, and “it is time that you learn I mean what I say. Do you understand me?” Henson tells her, “You are very intelligent, capable, and compassionate. I admire those qualities in you, so much I cannot express it.” “You are absolutely, utterly, incredibly adorable. Even when your temper flares.” “What you are seeing in me is the determination to make you mind me. And you will, my girl if you value the ability to be able to sit down comfortably. If you refuse, you will lose that ability.” “I hope you understand that I love you. I would not punish you if I didn’t care enough about you to insist that you stay safe.” “Henson was strict. He was demanding—determined that she would obey.”
The story is full of mystery and suspense with danger. Who is trying to hurt Cinderella and why? There is a great cast of characters, and with the prospect of many more stories with loving couples. It is fun seeing people from previous stories too. The men are dominant, they believe in loving and protecting their feisty women, and that includes many spankings. As with each relationship, the women are told up front what is expected of them, what is frowned upon, what will lead to a spanking, and the men follow through always. I do hope this serious continues.

Cinderella’s lawman by pippa great house
This is the third book in the stasburg series . it can be read as a stand alone but the first two are very good also. You will be missing some of the people that are mentioned in this book. I enjoyed seeing some old friends. This story is about cindedrella the school teacher in Strasburg. And Henson the deputy that tries to keep her safe. Some one shoots her at the school when she disobeys Henson and peaks out the window. And she walks to school alone and disobeys Henson. He has his plate full trying to keep her safe. He gives her plenty of loving discipline . this story is full of adventure and mystery and love. I was given this ARC book to voluntarily evaluate and love it the same as the first two in this series.
This is the third book in the Strasbourg Chronicles. For six months Deputy Henson Andrews has been watching out for schoolteacher Cinderella, warning her of the consequences of disregarding her own safety. He has ordered her repeatedly not to walk the two miles from the schoolhouse to town. Unfortunately, she is not particularly partial to orders from the handsome deputy who always seems to be scolding her. As she is walking home from the schoolhouse, Henson rescues her from a grizzly in the woods, and there begins their romance ... and her consequences. As with the second book in the series, there is much danger that the hero and heroine must overcome, and Henson frequently puts her over his knee for ignoring his safety precautions. Both the discipline scenes and the love scenes are moderate. The book is well-written, but perhaps lacking the level of humor that the second book had. All in all, it was a good read, and I look forward to the next installment in the Strasbourg Chronicles. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I got a little past the halfway mark and had to quit. It just didn't hold my attention.
I hadn't read the other books, so I was lost with some of the details. Why in the world was the school two miles from town and her place of residence???
The best way I can describe my impression of this book is juvenile attempt at historical erotica. The writing was technically well done. No typos or grammar flubs in the parts I read.
Her first name was used so often it became redundant. Never a shortened version like "Ella". Even when a pronoun would have worked we always got the full Cinderella.
She called him Sir when it didn't seem appropriate and switched between calling him by his first name and his last name when propriety for the period probably called for them to call each other Miss or Mr. Also the attempt at keeping the language correct for the period was distracting the word "shall" got on my nerves after a while. Also, he kept calling her "little missy". Made me roll my eyes.
The dialogue was silly between all the characters.
This book was a huge miss for me. I like the domestic discipline/ historical genre. Although I prefer them a little more edgy. This one seemed sweet instead of erotic. The plot seemed contrived rather than natural.

This book didn't have any depth in it - the main character Henson was over powered bully and Cinderella let him ride all over her - she had no back bone - I wanted to read it to the end to see if she ever stood up to him.
I will never buy a book by this author again. It was a waste of money and time. What wife calls her husband Sir and what kind of husband spanks his wife.
I love these series of books. I'm such a lover of Western books and Ms. Greenhouse writes them wonderfully. I love that there is a great hero and heroine in Henson and Cinderella and the love between them flies off of my kindle! The spanking and sex scenes were mild and not over the top but definitely apropos to the novel.
I cannot wait for the next one!
